NEW DATES FOR 2008!
Thanks to those who have been volunteering this year!
The Ensign fleet has organized a group to volunteer at the Cleveland Food Bank
once
a month during the winter. We worked in November and December, and will continue
in 2008 on the second
Wednesday of each month. The dates are: January
9th,
February 13th,
March 12th, April 9th, and
May 14th. Supporting the Cleveland
Food Bank was a
favorite project of Chris Kovach, and Pat Metzler is leading the
project this year. Why do we do it? Partly because it's a good thing to do, partly to
honor Chris' memory, and
partly just 'coz it's fun! Its a great way to get together with
your summer drinking and sailing buddies when it's too blasted cold to be on the water.
We need about 10 people each time, though if there are more than
that we can put you
to work. Please contact Pat
(jibwench@gmail.com) to let her know that you can come, as
we need to let the Food Bank know the number of people attending. .
The session starts at 6PM and lasts about two hours, though sometimes we are
done a bit
earlier. It would be great to have an enthusiastic turnout. It's fun, and a
great way to give
back to Cleveland! What a great excuse to get together and help out our neighbors, too!
The location is great, bright and clean, a very efficient place. If you have
not volunteered at
the food bank in the past three years, please note,
THEY HAVE MOVED TO A NEW LOCATION!
Also! Please go to
their site, print out the release form, sign it
and bring it with you on October 26th

Relative to EYC, here is a map to the new location:

It will be a great way to keep warm while we wait for winter to pass...warming
from the inside out!
