The end of the year is the time that we frequently look back and express gratitude for those who have helped us during the year. This year the Ensign Fleet sponsored a National Regatta, which was a major event for us. We asked for and received wonderful assistance in our project from the entire Edgewater Staff and from the yard crew in particular. They helped devise and produce equipment that allowed us to lift each of the thirty-five Ensigns out of the water to weigh them safely and accurately. Considerable time was needed for designing and then manufacturing equipment and later for final modification to ensure no damage was done to the boats while they were in the hoist. Volunteers from throughout the club’s membership and especially from the Highlander Fleet made the event go smoothly. We also owe a debt of gratitude to Terry McSweeney and his staff at Art American for the excellent work they did on our t-shirts and polo shirts.

Thanks to all who made the National Regatta such a successful evening. Please note Sailing World continues to feature the Ensign. In this case, the Harkin One-design of the month on page 94 of the November/December issue of Sailing World illustrates Harkin gear onboard our favorite one design full-keel sailboat
